Foreign Exhibitors to Be allowed to Sell Exhibited Items during Damascus International Fair

DAMASCUS- Ministry of Economy and Foreign Trade issued a decision allowing countries and foreign companies participating in the upcoming Damascus International Fair to sell their exhibited items directly to local consumers during the Fair if they so desire, according to SANA.

The decision states that the countries and the companies have the right to sell part of their exhibited products including items whose import is restricted or limited to exclusive institutions, with the exception of tobacco, cars, jewelry, ornaments of all kinds, and used clothing.

The decision specifies the mechanism via which the foreign participants in the Fair can benefit from the decision to sell the products. These products are covered by exemptions from duties and taxes similar to items originating from Arab states that are part in the greater Arab free trade zone or originating from Iran.

The 59th session of Damascus International Fair is to be held on August 17-26.
