“For the Sake of Syria”, crowds gather in various cities and towns of Damascus and its countryside in support of the presidential elections

Damascus (ST): “For the Sake of Syria”, crowds of people gathered in different regions, towns and villages of Damascus and its countryside to continue to say their word that “Syria’s victory today is drawn by its sons with their hands and by their votes, and to assume their full responsibilities for the success of their next constitutional entitlement on the 26th of May.

The people of the Shaghour neighborhood, Ibn Asaker, and the industrial zone gathered in the “Homeland Tent” built on Ibn Asaker Street. Schools gathered in support of the presidential elections and an affirmation of Syria’s sovereignty and independence of its national decision. This was intermingled with national chants and anthems for Syria and its army.

In statements,  Mohammad Sa’ti asserted that holding the presidential elections on time is a sign of victory for the will of the Syrians, indicating that he will elect those who will rise up in Syria and shake off the dust of war and destruction from it, while Du’a Alarga called on all Syrians to participate in the upcoming presidential elections in support of the free patriotic decision of choosing their own president without any external interventions.

 

Fariz Al-Hashemi pointed out that what Syria witnessed from the influx of its people abroad to the ballot boxes is a victory for the Syrian decision, and today we are anxiously waiting for the day of the constitutional entitlement to complete the scene and say our word, while Ana’m Zakariya confirmed that she will participate in the elections to prove that the Syrian vote is for the Syrians themselves and they alone have the right to decide their future.

At “Freedom Institute”, and in coordination between the First City Section of the Arab Socialist Ba’ath Party and the Syrian Pharmacists Union, a popular gathering was held in support of the presidential elections. Its activities included folk arts, lyrical and poetic segments with the participation of children and youth and words of clerics. A documentary film entitled “Merit to Victory” was also shown with the participation of artists and dancing bands, in addition to the Baath Vanguards and the Revolutionary Youth bands.

 Rasha al-Kabjouni and Maysa Abu Marah emphasized the necessity of broad participation in the elections because it is a victory for Syria, while Samah, “wife of a martyr,” said: “We are waiting impatiently, and everyone must participate to support the process of work and development.”

In turn, Nazir Al-Amouri considered that the presidential elections are the culmination of the victory of the Syrian Arab Army, while the mother of the martyr Samira Anoun indicated that her participation in the elections is a fulfillment of the blood of the Syrian martyrs that will not be in vain.

And in the Homeland Tent erected in Al-Sha’ar Square in the western neighborhood of the displaced from the Qudsaya region, many participants raised national flags and banners confirming their keenness to participate in the elections and chanted slogans and songs praising the love of the homeland.

Two young women, Kinda Shaheen and Salam Sariya, confirmed their participation in the elections, because it is a right and a patriotic duty and a continuation of the victories of the brave Syrian Arab Army.

Deeb Al-Homsi saw that the joy of the people and their emphasis on participating in the elections through these gatherings is the biggest message to the world that Syria continues its victory and chooses its president in a democratic way.

The city of Al-Raheiba witnessed a popular gathering in the Homeland Tent, which included artistic paragraphs, sports and folkloric performances, and the participants raised the national flag and banners calling for broad popular participation in the elections.

The mayor of Al-Raheiba municipality Maher Al-Sayed Ahmed pointed out that the victory of Syria today is being drawn by its sons in their hands and by their voices through their support and participation in the constitutional entitlement whose achievement proves the strength and cohesion of the Syrian state with all its institutions before the whole world.
