For the fourth consecutive month, the Turkish occupation continues its crime of depriving the city of Hasakah and its countryside of drinking water

The suffering continues as a result of the Turkish occupation’s insistence on its crime of depriving more than a million citizens of drinking water in the city of Hasakah as well as in the countryside of Hasakah population centers.

For the fourth month in a row, the Turkish occupier cuts off water from the people of the city of Hasakah, amid great suffering in securing potable water for domestic uses, despite all governmental, civil and charitable measures to alleviate the suffering.

Hasakah citizens state that cutting off water and tampering with the fate of a million citizens is a crime against humanity and they call for the intervention of United Nations agencies, as there is no alternative reliable source other than the Alouk water pumping station.

Hasakah residents further state that it has become exhausting for the people to transport small amounts of water from the reservoirs to their homes, amid a great rise in temperature. The water transported by private tanks is expensive and has an unknown source.”

A number of residents noted that what is being transported have been partially reduced, but the need for water is great regardless of the high cost of transporting water from reservoirs.

The Turkish occupation insists on cutting off water supply to the people of Hasakah while the Syrian government continues to deliver clean drinking water and transport it through tankers in cooperation with non-governmental organizations, civil associations, and private initiatives that are implemented under the supervision of the sub-committee for relief in the province.
