FM Statement: Saudi Regime did not to take real action to Stop Terrorism Incitement in Syria

DAMASCUS,(ST)_ The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates extended yesterday two identical letters to the UN Secretary- General and President of the UN Security Council, on al-Saud destructive role in an attempt to destroy Syria.

The ministry diverted attention to the letter addressed on February 11, 2014 by the Chargé d’ affairs of the Saudi Permanent Mission to the UN Secretary- General and the President of the UN Security Council in which he claimed that the Saudi regime issued new legislation to combat terrorism in an attempt to delude the international community in participating seriously in fighting terrorism and implementing UN Security Council relevant resolutions.

The ministry added that the real fight against terrorism requires issuing legislations and implementing them, considering the failure of the Saudi regime to take real action to stop terrorism incitement through halting practices by sedition- advocates- Saudis in calling for ” jihad ” in Syria and elsewhere in the world in response to the call made by Al-Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri for ” Jihad ” in Bilad al-Cham in October 2013 reveals that these legislations are false and lack credibility.

It explained that the danger lies in the Saudi regime continued dissemination of the Wahhabi Takfiri ideas, adopted by all terrorist groups, mainly to justify their crimes which are not only evil on Syria, but hit first the Saudi society, before extending to all parts of the world.

This ” jihad “, the ministry added, the result of political fatwas with a political cover is far from the sublime values of Islam, rather an evidence on Saudi Arabia involvement in support of terrorism and its criminals, noting that the Syrian government will provide the UN Security Council and its committees pertinent to combating terrorism with identities of 228 Saudi terrorists killed in Syria.

“The Syrian government confirms the right to sue those who support Arabs and foreign terrorists, for their crimes committed in Syria and that this right is not subject to negotiation or concession , as confirmed by the Syrian national law, the international law and international legitimacy resolution,” the statement read.

The ministry asked the UN Security Council, to take the necessary measures to deter the Saudi regime from continued support and incitement for terrorism in accordance with its relevant resolutions, particularly resolutions No. 1267 -1999, 1373 -2001, 1624 -2005 and from 1989 through 2011.

The ministry concluded by asking the UN Security Council and General Assembly to adopt this letter as an official document of both the Council and the Assembly under item No. 105, entitled, “ measures to combat terrorist acts.”
