The 43rd International Flowers Fair in Damascus was opened on Wednesday with local, Arab and international participation.
The exhibition, which will continues until September 12, is accompanied by various cultural, artistic and entertainment events.
The fair displays large number of ornamental plants and nurseries,beside, honey, handicrafts, pottery, carpet manufacturing, rural women’s products. and food.
Participant Issam Kallas, told Syria times :”I participated in this Fair for the second year. I am the owner of “Wadi Dawan” Center for Bee Products. We sell all bee products mainly honey, and we are also distinguished by propolis products.”
“We produce different kinds from raw propolis including powder, capsules and Propolis candy. We Display in this Fair eight types of honey and propolis. Our participation in the Flower Fair is a good opportunity to communicate directly with the consumer” Issam Kallas added .
Another participant was crafts woman Abeer Abu Hammoud who participated in the Flowers Fair with new art which is agricultural accessories. She displays in her pavilion aloe vera plants, products made of burlap and different kinds of macramé which are made of cotton thread.
“I regularly participate in this Fair to acquaint people with our products and to preserve our local crafts heritage.” Abeer said to Syria times.
For her part, Maryam Al-Khalaf always participates in collective exhibitions but she participated in the this event for the first time to introduce people with her products She showed hand crocheted products including bags, bracelets, and covers .She aims from her participation to sell her productsto the people and to know what people like .
Abdel Hadi Etma from Areej Al-Sham Nursery told us: “We have been participating in the International Flower Fair for 30 years. We display in this Fair fruit trees and citrus, hybrid indoor house plants, garden plants.”
“Our participation in the Fair is an opportunity to be familiar with others products “.
Participant Heffron Al-Ayoubi participates for the second time in the international Flowers Fair he said: “We display home cacti. We are also displaying handmade wooden decorations and small waterfalls”.
“Our Participation here help us to promote our products and develop our work at home” he added .
Firyal Felyon from the Nakaa Al- Qloob “Purity of Hearts” Association for people with special needs said: “Our Association has many branches vocational, educational and entertainment. We teach people of special needs handicrafts such as accessories, ceramics, candles, crochet works, perfumes and others.”
“We participate in this event to acquaint people with different produce, encourage them, and make them active people in society” she said.
