Five breaches of cessation of hostilities by terrorist organizations during the past 24 hours

Lattakia – The past 24 hours witnessed new breaches of the cessation of hostilities agreement by terrorist organizations.

The agreement came into effect on February 27th in an implementation of the Russian- US agreement which was adopted by the UN Security Council in accordance to resolution No. 2268.

 

The Russian Center for coordination and monitoring the cessation of hostilities in Hmeimeem said in a statement that five breaches were monitored during the past 24 hours, two of which in each of Aleppo and Lattakia countryside and one breach in Hama countryside.

The statement which was published by the Russian Defense Ministry on its website explained that al-Sultan Murad brigade which is active in al-Ashrafieh and al-Heidariyeh areas bombed twice with artillery positions of Kurdish Protection Units in al-Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood in Aleppo city, killing four civilians and injuring seven others.

Local sources said on Sunday that four civilians were martyred including three persons from the same family and seven others were injured in terrorist attacks with mortar and rocket shells on the locals’ houses in al-Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood in Aleppo, SANA reported.

The Russian Center said that the so-called free army bombed with mortar shells and heavy machine guns two towns in Lattakia countryside in addition to a town in Hama countryside which also came under fire.

The Russian Center added in the statement that it discussed with the American Center in Amman the breaches of cessation of hostilities, explaining that the two sides expressed concern over the breaches of cessation of hostilities in Lattakia and Hama countryside.

The Center added that terrorist organizations always try to breach the cessation of hostilities revealing that Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists are gathered to the north west of Hama preparing for an attack.

On Saturday, the Center announced that two new breaches were monitored, bringing the number of breaches to 249 since the agreement came into effect.

The cessation of hostilities does not include ISIS, Jabhat al-Nusra and other terrorist organizations listed on international terrorism list.
