Latakia (ST) – The first Syrian-Russian Forum concluded its activities on Monday by honoring the participants from both sides in appreciation of their ideas that greatly enriched the dialogue.
The head of the Russian Young Guard Movement, Anton Demidov, expressed his happiness over the success of the forum and the opportunity it provided to exchange experiences and ideas.
The activities of the last day included three dialogue sessions in which the President of the National Union of Syrian Students, Dr. Darine Suleiman, presented the the experiences of the students during which she explained the Union’s strategy aimed at involving young people in the development process to improve the reality of their societies.
Dr. Ensaf Hamad, a professor at the University of Damascus, talked about the importance of family in confronting the fierce liberal campaign that aims to destroy the concept of “family” in Syria.
Director General of the Department of Ecumenical Relations and Development of the Charitable Arm of the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Antioch and All the East, Archimandrite Meletios Shattahi, and the Director of the Endowments of Tartous Governorate, Abdullah Al-Sayyid, agreed on the necessity of fortifying the family as it is the first line of defense for the homeland against the attempts to undermine Syrian culture.
The dialogue meeting that hosted the director Basil Al-Khatib and the media figure Saad Al-Qassim, discussed the role of art in all its forms in consolidating and highlighting national identity and preserving the country’s history and traditions for future generations.
