The Internal Security Directorate in Aleppo, led by Lieutenant Colonel Mohamed Abdel Ghani, announced today the completion of the first phase of the prisoner exchange deal between the government and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
More than 200 detainees were released in an operation described by authorities as the first step toward strengthening civil peace and ensuring stability in the province.
This step comes in implementation of the agreement previously concluded between the two parties. This includes the exchange of approximately 600 detainees in three batches, according to official statements.
The government also emphasized that the agreement aims to promote peaceful coexistence among Syrian communities.
It denied any foreign interference in the agreement, stressing that negotiations took place solely between the Syrian parties.
The government affirmed that the security situation is under control and called for avoiding exaggeration of certain events.
