First Lady to highest ranked students in high school: “Each one of you is an ambassador for excellence and distinction”
First Lady Asma Al-Assad has met with the highest ranked students in high school for this year, alongside their parents.
“Despite 13 years of war, the Syrian society continues to be productive, and to bring up excelled individuals,” Mrs. Asma said during the meeting.
“For me personally, and for the Presidency of the Republic in general, this meeting has a main title, which is excellence and distinction and the relation between these two important values. Every year, we receive the highest ranked students in order to communicate with new distinguished families in our society, distinguished families that defied very difficult circumstances, the First Lady added.
She went on to say “each one of you, today and every day, is an ambassador for excellence and distinction. You are the hope. Your success is part of the country’s success and your distinction is part of Syria’s distinction. Excellence and distinction grow inside you and you will never give up these values whatever the circumstances are.”
For their part, the excelled students affirmed that excellence and distinction are responsibility and they need tireless efforts to ensure their continuity, pointing out that ambition must not have limits and everyone must work for the best.
The students clarified that they have defied the difficult circumstances imposed by the terrorist war on Syria and then by the earthquake, pointing out that their dreams came true through their excellence which constituted a strong response to theses challenges.
They stressed that Mrs. Asma’s support for the excelled students has been an important incentive for them to continue striving for excellence.
