First Lady, Mrs. Asma Al-Assad, visits the clothing factory within the Muthanna Production Complex in Tartous Countryside

First Lady, Mrs. Asma Al-Assad visited the clothing factory within the Muthanna Production Complex in Tartous countryside, which was launched in a small workshop with a small group of workers, and today it has become a large productive complex that includes hundreds of workers.

Mrs. Asma addressed the workers, saying: “It was clear in the tour that I made in the sections of this civilized facility that you have a lot of enthusiasm, energy and passion for work and production.”

She added: “The general scene is that of suffering, we all see that and live it, and the suffering is the largest source of frustration and despair, but in fact what I saw today is a scene of activity, vitality, positive energy and a passion for work. Here, we ask again, is this positive situation separate from our reality so that it is positive in this way. The answer is certainly no. It is not separate, on the contrary, it stems from suffering, because suffering takes us in two directions, either surrender and despair which helps the negative situation control us, or confrontation and challenge and thus we overcome the situation.”

The First Lady continued: The choice is in our hands, and you all chose the second direction. It is possible that when we start thinking about this project, the economic factor was the main factor at the foundation stage. But when we see such focus on and commitment to the general safety of workers, attention to their health and comfort and focus on preserving their dignity and their rights, here the human factor becomes the most important factor, because the motives of the economic side are always production, while the motives of the humanitatian side is the national status, that is, how we support, help and love each other .”

Mrs. Asma went on to say: “It is the need that drives a person to work, but the national situation is what makes him work within a team and with passion, sincerity and love, and encourages him to develop himself, and contributes to the development of others, and this thing was clearly noticed today in each one of you.”

The First Lady concluded by saying: “I thank you and salute you for your love for each other, for your loyalty to your work, and for your constant desire to give the best, and at the same time I salute the financiers of this project, which is an example of national economy.”
