First Lady, Mrs. Asma Al-Assad meets with member of the Omani State Council, Mrs. Maryam bint Issa Al-Zadjali
Damascus- First Lady, Mrs. Asma Al-Assad on Wednesday met with Mrs. Maryam bint Issa Al-Zadjali, member of the Omani State Council, and discussed with her important topics, including cooperation between Syria and Oman in the humanitarian and development fields
Mrs. Asma said that the social and humanitarian bridge between countries is the most solid kind of relations, pointing out that what Oman provided to Syria to help it face the repercussions of the catastrophe caused by the earthquake, deserves appreciation and thanks.
“The common moral, cultural and intellectual values that unite Syria and Oman are no less important than what unites them at the political level,” Mrs. Asma went on to say, stressing that preserving these common elements is a great responsibility shouldered by institutions and individuals.
For her part, Al-Zadjali stressed that her visit to Syria carries development, cultural and humanitarian meaning, affirming the need to boost cooperation between Syria and Oman in the development and health fields, especially in the face of cancer, and the need to exchange experiences among concerned institutions.
“What unites Syria and Oman transcends politics and diplomatic relations to brotherly relationship between the Syrian and Omani peoples,” she added.
Al-Zadjali is the head of Dar Al-Ataa Association, which is active in the field of family care, education support, economic empowerment and disaster management. The association will contribute to equipping the cancer hospital in Aleppo, which is about to be completed.
