Fires break out in Al-Matn and Kesrouan in Lebanon

Beirut,(ST) -A large fire broke out in the pine forest between the villages of Qabia and Shabaniyah in the Matn area, northeast of Beirut.

The Lebanese National News Agency stated that, the tanks and helicopters of the Lebanese Army, the owners of agricultural lands and civil defense teams are working to extinguish the fire, which spread due to the speed of the hot eastern winds, indicating that it reached near the houses in the town of Shabaniyah.

A large fire also broke out in the woodlands of the town of Ain El-Delba in Keserwan region and extended to the outskirts of the town of Mayrouba, and the firefighting teams in the civil defense and army teams in the area rushed to the place to help extinguish the fire .

Several fires broke out yesterday in the south and Akkar, and destroyed large areas of fruit and forest trees.
