Firefighting teams continue putting out fire that spread from Lebanon towards Al-Qusayr area

The firefighting teams in Homs governorate continue to put out the fire that spread on Wednesday evening from the Lebanese territories towards the outskirts of Akum village in Al-Qusayr area in the southwestern Homs countryside.

Major General Saeed Al-Awad, Director General of Civil Defense, pointed to the participation of Syrian Arab Army helicopters and soldiers in the process of extinguishing the fire, in addition to the support of other firefighting teams.

Al-Awad noted that the wind speed, high temperature and difficult terrain (mountains and valleys) make the extinguishing process difficult. He asserted that the firefighting teams focused on preventing the spread of fire towards the village, pointing out that there is a great overlap with the borders, so it is impossible to separate them.
