Fire extinguished in Lattakia Countryside

Latakia (ST)_Firefighting teams from the Forestry Department of the Agriculture Directorate, the Lattakia Fire Brigade, the Civil Defense, and forestry workers, in cooperation with locals, put out a fire that broke out in the agricultural lands between the villages of Al-Magrit, Mushairifa Al-Samuk and Janata.
 
Member of the Executive Office of the Provincial Council, Nabil al-Abdah, said that firefighting teams from all groups participated in the operations, with the involvement of water trailers mounted on agricultural tractors for the people in the villages surrounding the fire, especially in the site towards the Janata waterway because it is a sloping area and in a valley that is difficult for vehicles to reach. 
 
The losses caused by the fire exceeded 50 dunums, mostly olive trees.
 
For his part, head of the Forestry Department in the Directorate of Agriculture, Eng. Basem Douba, confirmed that 3 vehicles from the department participated in the extinguishing operations, in addition to two teams of workers who headed to sites in the valley, where the vehicles faced difficulty in accessing it.
