Finance Minister, Iranian Ambassador Discuss Economic Cooperation

DAMASCUS, (ST) – The Minister of Finance Dr. Mamoun Hamdan and the ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Damascus Jawad Turkabadi discussed here on Sunday ways of enhancing cooperation between the two friendly countries in the financial and economic fields.

Mr. Hamdan reviewed the efforts exerted by the government to modernize investment laws and simplify procedures, especially in the industrial fields. He called on Iranian businessmen to invest in Syria in the reconstruction phase, noting the great role played by the Iranian companies.

 On his part, the Iranian ambassador confirmed the depth of the historical relations between Iran and Syria, pointing out that the strength of the two friendly countries is represented in standing side by side to defend the right. He also hailed the victories achieved by the Syrian army.

He pointed out that many of the agreements between the two countries are going on the right track based on the solid ground prepared over the years to be the best work, stressing the need to develop strategies for the next phase through the revitalization of investments between the two countries.
