Final statement of the 35th Emergency Conference of the Arab Parliamentary Union

Participants in the thirty-fifth emergency conference of the Arab Parliamentary Union, which was held in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad on Wednesdsy called for supporting Gaza and Palestine and for stopping the barbaric Israeli aggression against civilians and the violation committed by the occupation against all sanctities and the international humanitarian law.

“ based on our  belief in the effectiveness of Arab solidarity and joint Arab action in lifting injustice against Palestine, which is facing Israel’s  destructive satanic force that has never hesitated to use all types of internationally prohibited weapons to commit more massacres against the Palestinians, we are adopting an emergency item within the meetings of the 147th session of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, due  to be held on the twenty-third of October. The item includes stopping the war on Gaza and  human rights violations.” The Arab Parliamentary  union’s final statement said.

The participants strongly condemned the Israeli terrorism practices against the Palestinian people, especially civilians, children, women and the elderly, in a failed attempt to undermine the Palestinians’ will and obliterate the Palestinian cause, stressing that the crimes committed by the Zionist entity, the latest of which is the bombing of Al-Mamadani Hospital, will lead to an unprecedented eruption throughout the Arab land.

They renewed their call on the international community and its influential international organizations to intervene urgently and immediately, to stop Israel’s aggressive crimes against humanity and attempts to isolate Gaza as well as stopping the attacks of Jewish settlers and extremists on Al-Aqsa Mosque and Palestinians in the villages and cities.

In their statement, the participants also urged the media in the world to be impartial and  accurate in the  coverage of the events taking place in Gaza and occupied Palestine, stressing that the approach of double standards used by some countries makes them lose their credibility and position as an international part that adopts democracy and supports  human rights,  moral and humanitarian principles.

The participants called on international parliaments and bodies to adopt  a stand to stop and condemn the violations against defenseless civilians of the Palestinian people,  and killing of innocent people  in Gaza , as well as the repeated attacks on Lebanon and Syria.

The  statement  noted the steadfastness  of the Palestinian people against  the crimes of the Israeli occupation for many decades, renewing their promise  that the Arab and historical issue of Palestine will remain a beacon of truth in the face of falsehood and a compass for Arabs and Muslims in all over world.
