With the participation of 281 male and female students from various governorates, the final qualifying exams for the Syrian Science Olympiad 2023 were launched today, to select members of the national teams that will participate in the International Olympiad competitions during the coming period, in the specializations of mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology and informatics.
The final qualifiers held by the Excellence and Creativity Authority include two rounds of tests over two days, the duration of each round is four continuous hours for the specializations of mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology, in the halls of the Ebla Hotel in Damascus, and five continuous hours for the informatics specialization in the Faculty of Informatics Engineering at the University of Damascus.
Students who get the first 15 positions in each specialization according to the results of the final qualifiers, or 30 percent of the number of participants in the final qualifiers, win the membership of the national team in their scientific specialization. The winners will be announced according to their positions in each scientific specialization at the level of Syria in an official ceremony to be held on January 21, at Al-Assad House for Culture and Arts in Damascus. They will also be crowned with medals, laurel wreaths, and certificates of appreciation.
The competitions of the new season of the Syrian Science Olympiad started on the 22nd of last October, with the participation of 6,800 male and female students from various governorates.
