BEIRUT, (ST)-President Michel Oun of Lebanon has stressed that fighting terrorism should be done in parallel with efforts to find political solution to the crisis in Syria.
During his meeting with the Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu on Friday in Beirut, Oun affirmed the importance of joint action to fight terrorism, find a political solution to the crisis in Syria and held end the suffering of displaced Syrians.
In a separate meeting with the German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Oun asserted that “establishing peace in the Middle East can be achieved by adopting just political solutions.”
Jubran Basil, the Lebanese Foreign Minister, said in a press conference with his Turkish counterpart that it is necessary to attain political settlement in Syria based on preserving its territorial integrity, reiterating that only the Syrians have the right to decide their own future.
