Fighting Terrorism _ Seminar

NEWYORK,(ST)_ Headed by US former Minister of Justice Ramsey Clark, the International Action Center in the United States held a seminar on Syria after Iran’s nuclear agreement, with the participation of representatives of the Syrian-American Forum. It was attended by several leaders of leaders of human rights organizations and anti-racist activists for peace.

Official spokesman for the Forum, Dr. Ghias Mousa reviewed main points of the nuclear agreement and its impact on the crisis in Syria and in fighting terrorism, refuting misinformation campaigns launched by Zionist propaganda to portray Iran and Syria as a threat to world peace, stressing the need that the US Congress should embark a new policy in dealing with Syria.

Mousa explained reasons behind Syria’s people and army steadfastness, noting that after each victory by resistance, Zionism and its hirelings in the region seek to create new areas of conflict to threaten Syria’s security and exploit its resources.

For his part, Ramsey Clark pointed to his experiences with the Syrian people he felt during his visits to Damascus, asserting that “the American attempts to change the regime in Syria are illegal and will not be achieved.”

For her part, Secretary of the National Alliance for the protection of civil liberties in the US Sarah Vloundr confirmed that Turkish-American attempt to create a so-called “safe area” in Syria is no different from its predecessors in Yugoslavia and Iraq, and are doomed to failure.

Participants in the seminar called for the intensification of efforts against threats imposed on Syria, stressing the need to support Syria against terrorism and to pressure on the US administration to stop supporting terrorism, as proven that terrorists in Syria are directly supported by the US and its allies in the region.
