Fico: Western Sanctions against Russia are Futile and Harmful to Europeans

Bratislava (ST) – Former Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico described the sanctions imposed by the West on Russia as “futile and absurd”, stressing that they harm Europeans more than they harm Russia.

In an interview with the Hungarian TV channel Her, Fico criticized the countries that send weapons to Ukraine, pointing out that “some cannot claim that they want to bring peace to Ukraine and at the same time send more weapons to it.”

He affirmed that a large part of the world views the war in Ukraine differently from the view of the European Union and the US, saying, “Whoever sends weapons to Ukraine is in practice prolonging the war in it.”
