Damascus, (ST) – The Forestry and Fire Monitoring Platform of the General Authority for Remote Sensing (Fermo) warned of the continued impact of high levels of fire risk indicators on forest sites in northwest Syria until the end of this month.
The Head of the platform in the authority, Dr. Rosa Karmouqa, said in a statement to SANA that today, Monday, is the highest intensity during the 2022 season, where indicators range between high and severe.
Karmouqa indicated that the danger indicators will gradually decline tomorrow, Tuesday, to be less severe after tomorrow, Wednesday, with large areas remaining within the high levels. She pointed out that the severity is expected to decline at the beginning of next month.
Karmouqa praised the efforts of workers in the forestry directorates in all governorates and forest protection teams for their constant readiness to confront fires despite the difficulties and rugged forest sites.
