During the event, which was held at Al-Sham Hotel in Damascus, a documentary was screened showing the repercussions of Syria earthquake in the provinces it hit and the rescue operations.

Participants in the celebration discussed supporting Syria in confronting the repercussions of the devastating earthquake and in providing necessary requirements for rebuilding and reconstruction, calling for breaking the siege imposed on Syria by the United States and the West.

Syria’s Minister of Public Works and Housing Suheil Abdul Latif noted the role of the Federation of Arab Engineers in the Arab development process through the scientific studies it submits to Arab organizations and governments and in the organizing of engineering conferences that have contributed to the development of the profession of engineering.

Abdul Latif thanked the Arab countries that provided humanitarian assistance to Syria to alleviate the suffering of the Syrians from the earthquake disaster, pointing out that such initiatives have created a great feeling inside the hearts of the Syrian people who appreciated this assistance very much.

For his part, the Secretary General of the Arab Engineers’ Federation Adel Al-Hadithi affirmed that after long years of patience and resistance, Syria, as people, army and leadership, will triumph over evil and aggression forces and it will restore its position as a platform for justice and truth and a bulwark in the face of the Zionist schemes and their supporters.
