FEARAB Delegation visits the historical sites in Old Damascus

The delegation of the Federation of Arab Institution in Latin America Countries “FEARAB”, participating in the activities’ of 50th extraordinary conference, which was launched on Monday in Damascus, visited  a number of historical places in Old Damascus, including Midhat Pasha Market, Khan Asad Pasha and Al Azam Palace.

In a statement to SANA Claude Hajjar from Brazil indicated that her visit to Syria is not the first; it is in solidarity with the Syrian people, indicating that she visited many markets and neighborhoods in Old Damascus to learn about the art of ancient Damascus architecture and the method of building the Syrian house, stressing the ability of the Syrian  people to overcome the effects of war and destruction.

In turn, Jaime Probiger the President of FEARAB Cuba, stated that this visit is a message of love to this beautiful country which is distinguished by its ancient history and its people who have the strong desire for their country to return to what it was before the war, pointing out that during the years of the war, they received inaccurate information and news, but she saw in the Syrian people the ability to overcome the effects of this unjust aggression.

Tamara Lali from Argentina explained that FEARAB includes more than 200 Syrian and Lebanese associations. It aims to enhance communications between the expatriates and the motherland and achieve interconnection between them. She said that the participants in the 50th Conference of FEARAB are from 8 countries in Latin America, which are Argentina, Mexico, Chile, Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay, Venezuela and Panama, noting the participation of 23 people from Argentina who came to provide support and stand by the Syrian people.

Lali added: any visitor to Syria wants to visit Old Damascus because it is the oldest inhabited capital in history, and it is an open museum and distinguished by warm hospitality that characterizes the Syrian people.

For their part, the couple, Abdoul Latif Hasan and Jamila Abdul Latif, who are of a Palestinian origin and they reside in Brazil, confirmed that their visit to Syria is a return to their roots and to stand with the Syrian people and state in order to end the unjust siege so that Syria can return to position as a meeting place for tourists from all over the world.
