Baghdad, (ST) – The activities of the thirteenth session of the Baghdad International Flower Festival kicked off today in the Iraqi capital Baghdad with distinguished Syrian Participation.
The Syrian pavilion included exhibits from the Ministry of Tourism and Federation of Chambers of Agriculture and companies specialized in the field of flowers, decoration and modern agricultural techniques.
The Syrian ambassador to Baghdad, Sattam Jadan Al-Dandah said in a statement to SANA: The participation of the Ministry of Tourism and the Federation of Chambers of Agriculture in the Thirteenth Baghdad International Flower Festival with a large pavilion and large quantities of different species of Syrian flowers is a message of love and loyalty from the Syrian people to our brothers in Iraq. He added: Syria’s participation has added radiance to the festival.
In turn, Majid Ezz Al-Din, Director of the Damascus Tourism Chamber and Head of the Syrian delegation affirmed that Syria was the first country to come up with the idea of the flower exhibition about 45 years ago.
Ezz Al-Din added: We used to invite many countries, including brotherly Iraq, to participate, and Syria is known for the beauty of its nature, its geographical location, and its soil that allows lush plants, flowers, and seedlings to grow well.
He pointed out that the Baghdad Festival this year is special, and every year it is distinguished by the efforts made in the diversity of participation and the beauty of the flower arrangements.
