Extremists attack students who staged sit-in in support of Palestine at the University of Milan, Italy

Roma,(ST)- Extremists supporting the Israeli occupation attacked a group of students protesting at the University of Milan, Italy, in support of the Palestinian people and in rejection of the aggression against Gaza Strip.

Milan Corriere newspaper reported that activists from a group called “Lotta Comunista,” which supports the Israeli occupation, attacked the students who have been holding a sit-in for about 10 days in a camp they set up inside the university campus in support of the Palestinian cause and in rejection of the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza Strip, and to demand an end to the agreements between the university and Israeli universities.

Video clips showed the extremists attacking students, smashing chairs, and tearing up the banners they were raising.

For his part, Rector of the University Elio Franzini threatened the pro-Palestine students and demanded that they end the protest under the pretext of their occupation of the university’s internal spaces, which undermines the normal planning of institutional activities.

Pro-Palestine student protests and sit-ins continue in many international universities, especially in the United States and Western countries.
