Tehran – Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif underlined that extremism is one of the most serious regional threats.
The extremism is the most serious threat of the region and Iran is ready to cooperate to confront his threat,’ Zarif said during a meeting with German Vice Chancellor Sigmar Gabriel in Tehran on Monday.
The Islamic Republic of Iran as a powerful and stable country in the region is ready cooperate to confront these threats.
The German vice chancellor, for his part, voiced his pleasure in travelling to Iran, and called for the expansion of cooperation, especially in the economic field.
Iran condemns terrorist attacks in Turkey
On the other hand, Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Marziyeh Afkham strongly condemned the terrorist attack in Southern Turkey which resulted in death and injury of several Turkish citizens on Monday.
‘This criminal terrorist attack once again showed that the perpetrators of such acts are not committed to any principle and for achieving their inhuman objectives will do anything,’ Afkham said.
The Iranian foreign ministry spokeswoman expressed sympathy with the bereaved families of the terrorist acts.
‘The government of the Islamic Republic of Iran believes that blind terrorism is a serious threat in the region .
At least 30 people have been killed after a massive ‘terrorist’ explosion rocked the Turkish town of Suruc, near the southern border with Syria.
The blast occurred at the garden of Amara Culture Center of Suruç Municipality on Monday. Suruc lies opposite the Syrian flashpoint town of Kobani.
An unnamed official in the prime minister’s office said nearly 100 people were also injured in the attack.
