Expo-2020 Dubai is due on Sunday, November 14th, 2021, to celebrate the Syrian pavilion within the framework of what is known as the national days of countries participating in this major regional event.
Different artistic and cultural activities stressing Syria’s rich cultural heritage will be held in this celebration. These activities were prepared by the team of the Syrian pavilion in cooperation with the Syrian Embassy in the UAE and the Syria Trust for Development.
Ghassan Abbas, Syria’s Ambassador to the UAE, the General Commissioner of Syria’s pavilion, told SANA that Syria’s national day will start with a meeting between the official Syrian and Emirati delegations participating in this event. Later, the two delegations will head to Al-Wasl Square where the Syrian national flag will be raised and the national anthems of the two countries will be played. Then heads of the two delegations will make speeches before the artistic shows begin.
The two delegations are due to visit the Syrian and Emirati pavilions and on the sidelines of these visits, important meetings and business briefing sessions will be held.
According to Abbas, specialists as well as representatives of the Syrian and Emirati chambers of commerce and industry were invited to attend the business briefing session devoted to presenting the economic opportunities offered by Syria to investors.
The session is held under the title “Syria…the Gateway to the World”, Abbas clarified.
He pointed out that Syria’s national day will be concluded by an artistic ceremony in honor of the legendary Syrian singer Sabah Fakri, who died recently at the age of 88. Famous Syrian singer Mohammad Khairi will sing Al-Qudud Al-Halabiya to celebrate this prestigious art which is nominated to be registered in UNESCO’s world heritage list.
