Expatriates launch 2nd phase of “Syria Phoenix “Campaign to Support Pound, Tomorrow

DAMASCUS, (ST)_ The second phase of public intervention by Syrian expatriates to support the Syrian pound of the  “Syria  Phoenix “ campaign   will be launched on May 25th  with the aim to support the national currency so as  to contribute to confronting the terrorist war imposed on it.

In a statement to SANA, campaign co- founder Dr. Nasreen Zreik explained that the launch of the 2nd phase of public intervention to support the national currency coincides with the celebration of resistance and liberation in order to give a message to the world that Syria will continue to be the country of resistance, noting that the campaign consists of 7 successive public intervention to support the Syrian pound.

She  noted that the 7 sessions of the  campaign include  the purchase of the Syrian pound from  global markets in order to raise its   disbursed price internationally,  transfer of funds into Syria and  then  the revitalization of the economy through huge deposits inside the Syrian government banks without benefits for a  period not less than one  year, noting that  25  expatriate business men and women  have joined the first public intervention as supporters of the main campaign through deposits began with  minimum of US $ one million, deposited  in government banks, while number of  Syrian expatriates contributors reached 374.

 She continued that the campaign agreed with national traders and industrialists that in order to help them export their products in global markets, they have to reduce the price of products at home, a matter which will be of a significant reflection for the benefit of the Syrian citizen. “

She called on traders and industrialists inside and outside Syria to join the campaign, noting that at this stage the campaign will be supervised in cooperation with members of the chambers of commerce and industry in all Syrian governorates.

Worthy mentioning that the public intervention to support the Syrian pound had  started by Syrian expatriates abroad,  before the zero hour of launching the  “Syria phoenix ”  campaign on May, 15th  targeting national  expatriates, will continue  for one  year and stages of public  intervention  in support for the Syrian pound  will be announced via the Syrian national media.
