Exhibition of Traditional Industries and Crafts Concluded

DAMASCUS, (ST) -Activities of the first exhibition of traditional crafts and industries held recently here by the Ministry of Tourism were concluded.

Director of Promotion and Tourism Marketing at the Ministry of Tourism Eng  Bassam Parseq said that the first exhibition of traditional crafts is a “successful experiment” and helped to collect craftsmen from most of the provinces, stressing that it “will not be the last experiment.

He confirmed that the ministry is going to build a database to document the names of all the artisans and crafts who work in this domain, explaining that it was allowed each person has a craft to  participate.

The exhibition included craftsmen from the  provinces of Hama, Sweida, Lattakia and Damascus in addition to the number of participants in the handicrafts market. The participations focused on industries of wax, wood, mosaic, wood carving and basalt and art.
