Excellence and Creativity Authority launches system for accredited trainers

The Excellence and Creativity Authority launched on Saturday the system of accredited trainers in mathematics, physics, chemistry, informatics, biology, robotics and debates.

During a workshop organized by the authority in the Reda Saeed Conference Hall at the University of Damascus, the participants reviewed the conditions and mechanism for joining the accredited trainer system, the duration of accreditation, the conditions and criteria for providing training content, the scheme of a training file accreditation mechanism, in addition to training behaviors and the levels of referees.

Head of the Authority, Engineer Hala Dakkak, confirmed that distinguished people with important experiences and successes in national teams and local and international competitions will be benefited from. Those who wish to hold specialized scientific certificates from outside the Olympiad and who have the potential to succeed in accordance with the specified criteria and conditions can also join the trainers.

Dakkak pointed to the increase in the number of students applying to the Syrian Scientific Olympiad year after year, indicating that this requires securing qualified trainers, and work to spread the culture of the Scientific Olympiad in Syrian society, and encouraging students to participate in its competitions, in order to raise the number of applicants to reach ten thousand students in the coming years.

Director of the Olympiad in the Excellence and Creativity Authority, Engineer Lynn Qassem, noted that the certified trainer system was launched to ensure an organized and effective training process that achieves the desired goal for students participating in the competitions.

A number of heads of scientific committees in the Authority gave presentations on the importance of attracting aspiring training competencies and establishing a broad base of qualified trainers in various scientific disciplines required to serve interest of  the Youth Scientific Olympiad project.

The heads of the committees also answered questions and inquiries from the attendees from the old scientific Olympiad students who won international prizes, as well as from the researchers and interested participants.
