European Union calls for an end to settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories

Occupied Al-Quds, (ST) – The European Union renewed its call on the Israeli occupation authorities to stop settlement operations in the occupied Palestinian territories.

“The Israeli settlement policy is illegal under international law, as well as forced displacement, house demolitions and seizure,” said Sven Cohan von Bergsdorff, the European Union representative in Palestine. He added that, “the Israeli authorities must stop them immediately.”

He pointed out the importance of finding a settlement to the Palestinian issue that ends the occupation and meets the aspirations of the Palestinians to establish their independent state on the June 4, 1967 line.
