Mike Wallace, a member of the European Parliament for Ireland, confirmed that the West flagrantly violates international law, pointing out that the unilateral sanctions imposed by the West on countries such as Syria, Iran, Venezuela and other countries, have caused the death of tens of thousands of people.
Wallace said in a speech before the European Parliament, which he posted on his Twitter account: “The European Union strongly demands the rule of law, but in return “we see it ignoring this law and imposing harsh and unilateral sanctions,”
He added: “The hatred of a small group of European politicians for some governments prevent tens of thousands of ordinary people to have access to medicine and treatment and led many to lose their lives, but, the West has no problem of course to ignore this matter and apply harsh unilateral sanctions across borders that put all the people of countries, including Iran, Syria and Venezuela, under severe pressure.”
Wallace considered that this action by the European Union “is considered as an act of international banditry and political persecution.”
He noted that “taking a decision on these sanctions is the responsibility of the Council of Europe, which is a political institution based on geopolitical intentions and agenda.”
