Geneva-(ST)- The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor revealed the results of an investigation into the circumstances of a massacre committed by the Israeli occupation in the Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza Strip last December.
The Monitor said in a statement on Thursday: “The investigation showed that the massacre committed by the occupation in the Al-Faluja area of Jabalia camp was carried out using American-made bombs with enormous destructive capacity,” noting that several “Israeli” air strikes bombed the community, which included residential buildings housing hundreds of displaced people which caused the death of about 120 Palestinians, most of them were from one family.
It added: “the bombing, within seconds, led to leveling buildings to the ground and massively destroying other buildings, and causing holes in the ground of which three reach a depth of about 2.5 meters, while some of them were about 10 meters in diameter.”
The Monitor confirmed that this massacre represents a war crime and a full-fledged crime against humanity committed by the occupation army against civilians as part of the ongoing crime of genocide against the Palestinian people in Gaza Strip.
The Monitor called on the International Criminal Court to expedite the issuance of arrest warrants and hold the occupation leaders accountable for their crimes against the Palestinians.
