Euro-Med Monitor: Kidney failure patients in Gaza face a slow death as a result of the continued Israeli aggression

Occupied Al-Quds (ST) – The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor warned of the risk of slow death threatening the lives of thousands of people with chronic and serious diseases, including kidney failure patients in Gaza Strip, as a result of the continuation of the genocidal war committed by the Israeli occupation for the 160th day.

The Euro-Med Monitor stated today that between 1000 and 1500 patients with kidney failure witness severe deteriorating in their health due to the lack of medical and therapeutic services and medicines throughout the Strip, in the light of the collapse of the health system.

Regarding the situation of hospitals throughout the Strip, the Monitor affirmed that hospitals are still facing a severe shortage of fuel, surgical equipment, medicines, including anesthesia drugs, and shortages of food and health worker, as only six hospitals are partially operating,

The Monitor noted that the pumps for the water desalination belonging to the dialysis department in the Shifa Medical Complex in Gaza broke down and went out of service as a result of the lack of electricity.

The Monitor renewed its strong condemnation of Israel’s systematic targeting of hospitals in the Strip, calling on the international community to intervene immediately to stop the aggression and the catastrophe suffered by the sick and wounded in the Strip.
