Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor: Israeli occupation forces are brutally targeting civilians in Gaza City

The Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor has stressed that Israel is conducting a horrific campaign of bloodshed against Palestinian civilians in Gaza City, burning their homes and properties, in a dangerous escalation of the genocide being committed against the residents of the Strip since 7 October 2023.

In a statement on Friday, the Monitor said that the Israeli occupation forces have detained 400 Palestinians over the past 24 hours in Gaza Strip, including displaced people, medical crews and journalists. They forced them to be completely naked, tortured them and used them as human shields.

Euro-Med Monitor documented several systematic crimes committed by the occupation in Gaza City, including premeditated killings, executions, storming into residential homes, detention and torture campaigns and forcible displacement of Palestinian families without the men members.

The Monitor pointed out that the occupation also forced patients and injured persons inside Al-Shifa medical complex to leave the hospital regardless of their health condition and turn the medical complex into a military barracks.

The Euro-Med Monitor pointed out that targeting the health system in Gaza Strip, and endangering the lives of thousands of sick and wounded people, displaced families, and medical teams, is a dangerous indicator of the occupation’s insistence to continue committing the crime of genocide.

The Monitor called on the international community to intervene immediately and seriously to protect the Palestinians from the crime of genocide that the occupation has been committing in Gaza Strip for more than five months.
