Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor: Israeli forces use booby-trapped robots in their killing and destruction operations in northern Gaza

Geneva (ST)-The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor has confirmed that the Israeli occupation forces are using booby-trapped robots, loaded with tons of explosives, in their large-scale destruction and killing operations carried out in northern Gaza as part of the ongoing invasion of this area which has been continuous for the ninth consecutive day amid the escalation of the crime of genocide against the Palestinians, and the crimes of deliberate killing, starvation and forced displacement on a large scale.

The Monitor said in a statement on Sunday that it received numerous testimonies about the Israeli occupation using booby-trapped robots and detonating them remotely, causing widespread damage to surrounding homes and buildings and significant loss of life, while the work of ambulance and civil defense crews is almost completely disrupted.”

The Monitor added “Israel’s use of booby-trapped robots is prohibited under international law, as these robots are considered indiscriminate weapons that cannot be directed or their effects limited, and their use in residential areas constitutes an international crime in itself.”
