EU leaders decide to impose sanctions on the Turkish regime

Brussels (ST): EU leaders and prime ministers have decided during their meeting in Brussels to impose sanctions on the Turkish regime because of its illegal and aggressive violations to the east of the Mediterranean.

France Press Agency quoted an EU diplomat as saying that the measures adopted would be individualistic sanctions, and additional sanctions would be taken in case Turkey continued its provocative acts.

He added that a list of names would be put in the forthcoming weeks  and would be distributed to the member states to be agreed upon according to the recommendations adopted by the 27th EU summit.

Earlier, President of the European Council Charles Michael affirmed the EU readiness to impose sanctions on the Turkish regime because of its provocative acts and unilateral measures to the east of the Mediterranean.
