The European Union on Friday called for a prompt and transparent investigation into the Israeli occupation’s crimes against Palestinian children, affirming that children enjoy special protection under international law.
According to WAFA News Agency, the EU office in occupied Al-Quds (Jerusalem) called for immediate investigation into the murder of the 16-year-old Palestinian child Omar Awadin by the Israeli occupation forces yesterday in Jenin, north of the West Bank.
Awadin was murdered along with three other Palestinians in a brutal Israeli attack which took place in blatant daylight in one of the busiest streets of the Jenin city center.
The three other Palestinians who were killed in cold blood during the Israeli raid were identified as Nedal Khazem, 28, Saleh Shreim, 29, and Loay Zaghayer, a 37-year-old father of two. At least 23 others were injured, four of them suffer from serious injuries.
The number of Palestinians killed by the Israeli occupation forces since the beginning of the year has climbed to 89, including 17 children and an elderly woman, according to the figures of the Palestinian Ministry of Health, WAFA reported.
