Establishing an economic zone near Lebanese-Syrian borders enhances economic integration between the two countries
Lebanese Minister of Transport and Public Works Ali Hamieh has stressed that establishing an economic zone near the Al-Qaa border crossing between Lebanon and Syria will contribute to attracting local and foreign investments and boosting Lebanon’s economic situation.
During a meeting with economic personalities in Al-Beqaa on Saturday, Hamieh clarified that establishing this economic zone will enhance economic activities and create job opportunity.
It will play a major role in consolidating economic integration between the two brotherly countries, he added.
Two weeks ago, the Lebanese Cabinet made decisions regarding the situation of the Lebanese border crossings with Syria with the aim of reactivating the transit of goods and the passage of lorries and refrigerator trucks and facilitating the movement between the two countries.
