Ershadi: All illegal foreign forces on Syrian soil must leave without preconditions

Tehran (ST): Zahra Ershadi, Assistant Head of the Iranian Permanent Mission to the United Nations, stressed that the presence of illegal foreign forces on Syrian territory and the continuation of Israeli attacks represent a flagrant violation of international laws and a threat to regional and international peace and security.

Ershadi said during a session of the UN Security Council on the situation in Syria that in order to find conducive ground to end the crisis in Syria, all foreign forces present on Syrian territory without an invitation from its legitimate government must leave without preconditions and without any delay, and that terrorist groups must be confronted.

She added that “the UN Security Council must push the Israeli entity to end its violations and attacks on Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.”

Ershadi went on to say that the UN Security Council requested all member states to take practical steps to meet the urgent needs of the Syrian people, which also means ending the imposition of the illegal unilateral embargo against Syria by some countries, which is one of the main causes of the aggravating humanitarian situation in it.
