Erdogan: “We completely trust the new Syrian administration and work with it”

ANKARA, Feb.15, (ST)- Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has asserted his country’s full confidence in the new Syrian administration, saying that it will work closely with it.

“We carefully watch all events in the region, deal with them immediately, and completely trust the Syrian administration and work with it, and this helps speed up operations,” Erdogan said, according to a transcript of his remarks to journalists on his return flight from a trip to Malaysia, Indonesia and Pakistan.

Erdogan added: “The steps that must be taken for the future of Syria are of great importance, not only for the internal situation in Syria, but also for Turkey’s security and its relations with all parties in the region.”

He affirmed that terrorist organizations must understand that they have no place in Syria, and that his country has not provided shelter or opportunity for the survival of such organizations that pose a threat to Turkey in northern Syria.
