Equestrian Ahmad Hamsho chosen to carry the Syrian flag at the opening ceremony of Tokyo Olympics

The Syrian Olympics Committee has chosen equestrian Ahmad Hamsho to carry the national flag at the opening ceremony of Tokyo Olympics 2021 schedule to be held on July 23rd.

Choosing Hamsho for this mission comes due to the remarkable position of the equestrian sport at the international level and due to the achievements this Syrian equestrian has made in this sport in recent years.  

“When you are chosen to carry the flag of your country in any place in the world, this will be undoubtedly the greatest feeling that you can experience,” Hamsho said, noting that he will do his best during the competitions to present an honorable image of Syrian horsemanship and to achieve an advanced position.

It is to be noted that Syria is participating in Tokyo Olympics with six athletes.
