Damascus, (ST) – Prime Minister, Engineer Hossein Arnous received on Thursday the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia, Daur Kofi Vadimovich, and the accompanying delegation.
The meeting dealt with ways to strengthen bilateral relations in various fields to face the current challenges and difficulties, joint measures to facilitate the return of refugees to their homeland and enable them to restore their lives naturally, and the necessity of lifting the unfair economic sanctions that prevent this being done properly.
The two sides also discussed establishing industrial projects and partnerships that secure the needs of the two countries ’markets and open horizons for joint cooperation, as it was stressed the need to accelerate the formation of the Joint Ministerial Committee and the Businessmen Council to activate cooperation in the economic, trade, maritime and air transport fields.
Eng. Arnous re–affirmed Syria’s desire and willingness to develop and strengthen relations between the two countries and push these relations forward with all available means. He pointed to the Syrian government’s keenness to develop cooperation in a way that achieves the common interest of the two friendly countries and peoples.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia expressed his appreciation for the stance of the people of Syria and the leadership supporting his country, stressing the desire of the Republic of Abkhazia to develop relations with Syria in various fields.
