Engineer Arnous visits Aleppo markets

Aleppo (ST): The Prime Minister, Engineer Hussein Arnous, visited the “Aleppo Trail” festival, which is being held by the Aleppo Governorate, the Chamber of Commerce and the Syrian Trust for Development in the old city, where it hosts a number of cultural and artistic activities and activities and entertainment competitions within the Silk Markets, Saqqatiyah, Al Bunduq Square, Khan Al-Titn Al-Kabir and Al-Zarb Market.

The tour also included the vicinity of the Citadel of Aleppo, where the works and service projects that were implemented to restore the vicinity of the Citadel to its position as a site for popular tourism were reviewed.

Engineer Arnous underlined the importance of these events, which embody the recovery of the city of Aleppo and the return of economic and social activity to it, pointing out that Aleppo, with its economic and historical position, returns today to its momentum and activity thanks to the sacrifices of the Syrian Arab Army.

The Prime Minister toured a number of the city’s markets and popular neighborhoods, including Al-Shaar Market, which is one of the neighborhoods liberated from terrorism and is currently witnessing a high population density and great commercial activity.

Engineer Arnous met with a number of citizens and listened to their service demands and stressed the government’s insistence on improving the service and development reality in the governorate and working with all possible means to secure the various needs and requirements of its people.

The Prime Minister also visited the “Adha Mubarak” festival, which is organized by the governorate in cooperation with the Aleppo Chamber of Commerce and includes 160 pavilions that include various materials “from producer to consumer” with daily discounts of up to 50 percent.

Engineer Arnous pointed to the importance of these economic activities and events that contribute to breaking the mediation cycles between producers and consumers and providing goods and products at competitive prices, stressing that Aleppo’s markets reflect the return of normal life and the economic, social and historical status of this ancient city.

In a statement to reporters, the Prime Minister expressed his happiness for the return of vitality and activity to the Aleppo markets, and said, “The Aleppo Darb Festival, which is held in cooperation between the governorate, the Chamber of Commerce and the Syrian Trust for Development, led to an increase in mobility, especially with the approaching Eid al-Adha, and this confirms the nobility and authenticity of the markets in Aleppo, which are considered a destination for all Syrian citizens.
