Engineer Arnous reviews with Qassemi strengthening joint cooperation between Syria and Iran in various fields

Damascus (ST): Prime Minister, Eng. Hussein Arnous, discussed during his meeting with Rustam Qassemi, Minister of Roads and Cities Building, Chairman of the Syrian-Iranian Joint Economic Committee, from the Iranian side and his accompanying delegation, the strengthening of joint cooperation in various economic fields, transportation, industry, electricity and oil derivatives.

 

Talks dealt with the importance of concerted efforts to find a kind of integration between the two countries’ economies, increase trade exchange, enhance the interdependence of the two countries’ markets, and form joint teams to activate and implement agreements and memoranda of understanding signed between the two sides and put them into effect in a manner that achieves the common interests of the two friendly countries and peoples.

Stress was laid on the need to expand cooperation in the areas of housing, rehabilitate damaged infrastructure, prepare the appropriate ground for joint investments, open new horizons for them, and provide facilities for the private sector in the two countries to carry out projects that include a number of vital and development sectors, as well as securing land transport to facilitate the movement of trade and the transport of goods between the two countries.

Eng. Arnous affirmed the Syrian government’s readiness to take all measures that contribute to pushing bilateral relations forward, overcoming the obstacles they encounter and finding basic pillars for long-term economic cooperation, expressing appreciation for the position of Iran’s leadership, government and people for its support for the Syrian people in its response to the terrorist war it is exposed to and the coercive economic unilateral measures imposed on it.

For his part, Minister Qassemi reiterated his country’s continued support for Syria and its keenness to expand cooperation between the two countries in all fields, especially the economy, expressing at the same time appreciation for the great sacrifices made by the Syrian people, thanks to which Syria achieved victory over terrorism.
