Engineer Arnous meets with the Ministers of Agriculture in Jordan, Iraq and Lebanon

On March 26thPrime Minister, Eng. Hussein Arnous, stressed the importance of achieving agricultural integration, enhancing cooperation and trade exchange, and facilitating the flow of agricultural goods and products between Arab countries in light of climate changes and the rise in global food prices. 

During his meeting with the Ministers of Agriculture in Jordan, Iraq and Lebanon, Khaled Al-Hanifat, Abbas Al-Alaywi and Abbas Al-Haj Hassan, Eng. Arnous called to find advanced forms of cooperation and joint coordination to develop agricultural production and enhance food security in the strategic term

He stressed the importance of such meetings that contribute to strengthening inter-relationships especially in the agricultural and commercial field, in the interest of the brotherly Arab peoples. 

He underlined the need to benefit from the integration between the Arab agricultural markets in a way that enhances the economic and social feasibility of investing in this vital sector with the aim of achieving self-sufficiency and Arab food security

He welcomed the convening of the fourth meeting of the Ministers of Agriculture in each of Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq and Syria in Damascus, expressing the great support given by the Syrian government to the outputs of this meeting

The Ministers of Agriculture in Jordan, Iraq and Lebanon stressed the need to take all measures to enhance trade exchange and facilitate the flow of goods, and to prepare a solid base for cooperation in the agricultural sector in a way that contributes to achieving integration and stability by securing the needs of agricultural products

The meeting was attended by the Minister of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform, Engineer Muhammad Hassan Qatana, and the Secretary-General of the Presidency of the Cabinet, Dr. Qais Muhammad Khader.
