Hama (ST):  Hussein Arnous, Prime Minister, inspected the operations of transporting and receiving grains in the approved centers in Hama Governorate, stressing the necessity of facilitating transportation operations and the acceleration of receiving work in order to save time and effort for the farmer.

Arnous referred to the necessity of harnessing all the capabilities of the governorate to contribute to achieving a distinguished season that supports the national economy, pointing out that the estimates of wheat production in Hama governorate for this season amount to more than 350 thousand tons, and this amount promises better seasons than this strategic yield.

During the tour of the grain centers in Salhab, Al-Suqaylabiyah and Mahrada, the Prime Minister pointed out that the processes of receiving wheat are going well as planned, congratulating the farmers and producers on harvesting their crop and delivering it to the grain centers of the Syrian Grain Corporation, stressing that the government has provided what it can provide in support of the wheat harvest season.

He added that his tour in Hama showed that the majority of the wheat received was of good quality and specifications of the first, second and third grades,  stressing that the government will be supportive of the farmers and beside them in paying the values of their crops directly and immediately after the process of handing them over to the centers in the event that the value of the crop is 50 million Syrian pounds and less, and in the event that it exceeds that, the farmer receives the second batch of the value of his crop in the second week, calling for the operations of receiving the crop to be easy.

Engineer Arnous expressed his hope that the total quantities of wheat received this season in all governorates would reach one million tons, pointing to seeking to supply wheat from all regions, because wheat is food for all Syrians.

With regard to the Salhab Mill project, which was included in the tour, the Prime Minister indicated that the mill is an important achievement for the region in particular and for Hama Governorate in general in achieving self-sufficiency in grain milling operations, pointing out that the mill is ready for work and production, and the process of rehabilitating the general site and securing continuous electrical supply is currently underway.
