Engineer Arnos discusses with the Pakistani Minister of Education ways to exchange curriculum development, scientific expertise and scholarships

Prime Minister, Engineer Hussein Arnous, met today with the Pakistani Minister of Education, Dr. Rana Tanweer Hussein, and the accompanying delegation.

The meeting dealt with ways to enhance cooperation in the fields of technical and vocational education, exchange scientific expertise, develop curricula, increase scholarships offered by the Pakistani side, and continue joint efforts to expand horizons of cooperation to include the fields of human development, culture and economy, and exchange experience in the agricultural field, in the interest of the two friendly countries and peoples.

Engineer Arnous stressed that the education sector receives all the attention and care of the Syrian state, which has secured the continuation of the educational process, rehabilitated the damaged infrastructure, as a result of terrorism, returned school dropouts to school, and compensated for educational losses, as great strides have been made in this field, pointing to the importance of linking education to the national dimension and cultural values in order to meet the challenges facing many countries and peoples, so that science and knowledge remain closely linked to the system of values and sound morals.

The Prime Minister expressed keenness to develop bilateral relations between the two countries, which are based on an important historical legacy based on mutual respect and appreciation.

For his part, the Pakistani Minister of Education referred to the deep-rooted friendship between the two countries, stressing his country’s readiness to develop aspects of cooperation with Syria in the educational, professional and technical fields, and to provide support to the Ministry of Education, and to exchange experience in a number of disciplines that serve both sides, pointing to the similar circumstances and challenges as Syria and Pakistan are subject to embargo and terrorism.
