Eng. Arnous discusses with the Abkhazian delegation ways to develop economic and trade relations and trade exchange between Syria and Abkhazia

On October 5, Prime Minister Eng. Hossein Arnous discussed with an Abkhazi delegation headed by Alkhas Kvicinia Alekseevich, Head of the Office of the President of the Republic of Abkhazia, and Daur Kofi Vadimovich, Minister of Foreign Affairs, ways to develop economic relations and trade exchange between the two countries.

The meeting dealt with promoting relations between Syria and Abkhazia at all levels, especially economic and investment, activating the work of joint committees to develop cooperation, establishing a joint Syrian-Abkhazi businessmen council to facilitate the access of the two countries’ products to their markets, and exchanging visits to explore cooperation opportunities to achieve the common interest of the two friendly countries and peoples.

Eng. Arnous stressed that Syria is making every effort to achieve self-sufficiency in conditions of an unjust economic blockade by relying on its capabilities and cooperating with friendly countries that stood by it in the face of international terrorism.

Eng. Arnous said that the Syrian and Abkhazi peoples share many common values and principles.

For his part, Alekseevich expressed his appreciation for the stances of Syria and its people in support of the Republic of Abkhazia and his country’s desire to upgrade the level of economic relations, especially in the agricultural and tourism fields.

The meeting was attended by the ministers of tourism and agriculture and the deputy minister of foreign affairs and expatriates.
