Eng. Arnous discusses with Al-Mandhari the strengthening of cooperation between Syria and WHO to confront the challenges of the Corona epidemic
On October 27, Prime Minister Engineer Hussein Arnous met with Dr. Ahmed Al-Mandhari, World Health Organization ( WHO) Regional Director for the Eastern Mediterranean,Dr. Akjemal Magtymova, WHO representative to Syrian Arab Republic and the accompanying delegation.
The meeting focused on the need to strengthen cooperation and coordination between Syria and WHO to face the challenges resulting from the Corona epidemic, raise the level of response to emergency situations, and secure a number of medical supplies and equipment needed by the Syrian health sector.
Eng. Arnous confirmed that the Syrian government team concerned with the Corona epidemic has taken precautionary measures to limit the spread of the virus.
Eng.Arnous explained that the health sector in Syria was one of the best health sectors in terms of the availability of expert medical personnel, the number of hospitals and health centers spread in various regions,and the quality of services they provide to all citizens.
In turn, Al-Mandhari praised the cooperation of the Syrian government with WHO and the efforts of the health sector in facing the Corona epidemic.
The meeting was attended by Minister of Health, Dr. Hassan Al-Ghibash, and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates , Dr. Faisal Al-Miqdad.
